Fishes Wedding Wishes

Fishes Wedding Wishes
Made this card for my younger cousin brother who is having his wedding dinner reception this coming Sunday night. The Chinese tradition wedding ceremony was done yesterday and the registration of marriage (ROM) was done few months back.

Deconstructed Sketch No. 102
I adopt the sketch from Deconstructed Sketch No. 102 as shown above for this card. I thought do not want to use fishes for his wedding wishes card (as the previous one was on fishes as well) but I could not as his wife Christian name is 'Fish'. Thus, it is more appropriate to use fishes for his wedding card. :P

Close-up : The male fish
I use The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS) freebie fish to make this wedding wishes card. The mirror fish and the original fish are printed on a white card stock and trimmed accordingly. The mirror fish whose is the male fish is colored with yellow shaded Copic marker while the original fish whose is the female fish is colored using orange shaded Copic markers. The background is distressed with blue ink to create the water effect. Blue shaded Copic marker is used to highlight the lining of the fishes.
Close-up : The female fish

Close-up : The male and female fish
The background pattern paper full of hearts (which give me a feel of ocean full of loves!) is used by attaching it to a cream card base. Then, the colored fishes is attached onto the pattern paper as in the sketch. Some touch-up are added to the fishes such as the hat for the male fish and ribbon for the female fish. I also added a googly eye for each of the fishes.

Close-up : Sentiment
As for the sentiment, it is stamped onto a red fishtail or banner in gold ink. It is attached onto the card as in sketch. Two (2) gold gems are added to the side of the sentiment.

Close-up : Punched pink heart and red heart shaped gem
A pink punched heart is attached to the front of the fishtail or banner. A red heart shaped gem is added to the center of the pink punched heart.

Dimension : 12.7cm x 19.05cm or 5" x 7.5"
Type : Vertical fold
Inlay : None

Fetch A Sketch - Challenge 50
I adopt the sketch from Fetch A Sketch - Challenge 50 as shown above due to its simplicity (again).

I decided to do something I always wanted to do with this sketch. A kind of 'layer on layer' effect. A blue panel is trimmed and circle die-cut on the upper part of the panel. The panel is then attached onto a green card base.

Close-up : The circle with sentiment
A yellow circle is die-cut and stamped with the sentiment. It is then layer onto the green card base inside the blue panel circle using pop dots. This created a kind of 'layer on layer' effect.

Close-up : Three (3) apples
At the bottom of the blue panel, three (3) apples are stamped and colored using Copic markers.

Dimension : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"

Freshly Made Sketches #87 - A Sketch by Jennifer T
Again, I adopt the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #87 - A Sketch by Jennifer T as shown above due to its simplicity (if not I do not think I can make eight (8) Teachers' Day cards in few hours). This time, I decided to stick to the sketch as it is.

Close-up : Apple as embellishment
A zig zag strip is trimmed from a pattern paper and attached directly onto a green card base. Another two (2) apples are stamped onto a white card stock, colored using Copic marker and trimmed accordingly. They are then attached to the yellow panel as in sketch using pop dots.

Close-up : Sentiment
The sentiment is stamped onto the card base at the right bottom corner. There is no 'English' in the stamp set, if not I would stamp that!

You're the Best Art Teacher!

I am in the midst of burning midnight oil to make eight (8) Teachers' Day cards for my daughter tomorrow, Thursday morning. I suppose to make them earlier when I got my Sweet Stamp Shop School's Out stamp but my day job and life leaves me no extra time for card making! Thus, I am burning the midnight oil now!

You're the Best Art Teacher!
The first Teacher's Day card is a card for teacher who teaches both Science and Art (I wonder how Science and Art connected to each other). However, my daughter favor her to teach Art more. Thus, I address the card to solely Art teacher.

Freshly Made Sketches #87 - A Sketch by Jennifer T
I adopt the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #87 - A Sketch by Jennifer T as shown above. However, I decided to clockwise the sketch. I choose simple sketch and keep my card as minimal as possible as I need to make eight (8) Teachers' Day cards.

Close-up : Self-made apple pattern paper
Since this is a card for an Art teacher, I make extra effort on this card (just to impress the teacher). I make my own pattern paper by stamping rows of apples onto a white card stock. The apples are colored in red and green alternatively using Copic markers. Then, it is attached onto a pink card base.

Close-up : Sentiment panel
A yellow panel is trimmed accordingly. The sentiment is stamped onto the panel before attaching to the apple pattern paper as in sketch.

Close-up : Apple as embellishment
Another two (2) apples are stamped onto a white card stock, colored using Copic marker and trimmed accordingly. They are then attached to the yellow panel as in sketch using pop dots.

The card is finished with two (2) pink gems to the right and left of the word 'best'.

Dimension : 10.16cm x 15.24cm or 4" x 6"

I Won at the Ribbon Carousel Second Birthday Blog Hop!

I won (or get picked) at the recent Ribbon Carousel Second Birthday Blog Hop! I am just so lucky as there are so many participants! Even there are a number of gift sponsors and a bunches of chances, I really lucky to get picked!

I stumble upon Ribbon Carousel Second Birthday Blog Hop when I was checking challenge sites for challenges to participant in and Ribbon Carousel used to host one. I was in time for the blog hop and the design team creation are totally amazing and stunning!

Like usual, I did not give high hope of getting picked but this time I have a feeling that I might won which urged me to check the winner post! As I scroll down the winner post, I could not believe my eyes that I was lined up in the third line of announcement! I just stunned for a moment!

Well, I actually do not know what I won but Ribbon Carousel is so organized that it show where (as in which design team member blog) the winner get picked and what prize the winner won. I was picked from Amy Crockett's blog for My Creative Time's WOW So Many Candles stamp set as shown below.
My Creative Time WOW So Many Candles stamp set

I already have a number of stamp sets on birthday related theme but birthday is a 365 days of event as there must be someone in your life who celebrate birthday. Thus, I do not mind an additional of birthday stamp set in my collection! :P Furthermore, the sentiments in this WOW So Many Candles stamp set is so funny which I think make some great birthday cards!

Thanks to both Ribbon Carousel and My Creative Time for the prize!

Happy Second Birthday, Ribbon Carousel! May there are more to come! :P
